Return to Paddling - July 2020
Level 5 Restrictions - Oct 2020
The club has restricted paddling activates in line with HSE and Canoeing Ireland Leve 5 guidelines.
As the situation changes, and improves, we will update the policy and inform members accordingly. For any queries email and address query to the Club Covid-19 Point of contact.
Based in Ballymahon Co. Longford, on the river Inny, Inny kayakers are drawn from a large catchment of local paddlers. The Inny provides a 4km stretch of prime paddling real estate with rapids containing some pour-over’s, stoppers, holes and standing waves. It is the only stretch of water of this type in the midlands area. It provides the perfect run for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. The Inny kayakers association pride themselves on promoting safe paddling in line with the governing bod (Canoeing Ireland) safety guidelines and training structure. Trips away are plenty!
The club has thankfully returned to paddling from 29th June
after the Covid-19 lock down. There are a number of precautions
members need to take in line with ongoing Canoeing Ireland
and gov.ie recommendations. Primary activities logging of club
trip participation, restricted usage of club equipment and
restricted usage of club house facilities, and safety declaration
forms before paddling.
The club has written a "Return to Paddling Policy" outlining these activities in detail,
and distributed this document to all members.
The committee also ran an info session on this policy on the 29th June.
We appreciate members cooperation with the committee in working with this policy.
Once we get used to these new procedures they will become easier.
As the situation changes, and improves, we will update the policy and inform members accordingly.
